About the role

The position is a full-time role with benefits or part-time hourly or split between two adults. It is open to adjusting the schedule and responsibilities based on individual availability. The ideal candidate will be available starting in April 2026 to manage the Impact Crew activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide building maintenance needs and/or room management at the Woodlands Impact Center during the school day.
  • Support the Impact Crew as the Lawn Care Supervisor after school hours and seasonal.
  • Prepare the lawn equipment and transportation for the season.
  • Recruit teens for available Impact Crew roles.
  • Set expectations with the teens regarding their positions.
  • Manage community contacts/accounts for weekly service.
  • Drive crew members to and from job sites.
  • Transport mowers, trimmers, and equipment.
  • Train teens on how to safely use lawn equipment.
  • Assign mowing, trimming, and weeding duties.
  • Do light maintenance and basic equipment fixes.
  • Maintain safety rules.
  • Communicate with customers when needed.
  • Show up on time, work hard, use equipment safely, treat customers with respect, and take pride in a job well done.
  • Lead the team of high-school students in showing up on time, working hard, using equipment safely, treating customers with respect, and taking pride in a job well done.
  • Model strong work habits, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Mow alongside the crew to show them how it is done!

Requirements

  • Be 25 or older.
  • Have experience using gas-powered lawn equipment.
  • Enjoy working with teens and being a positive role model.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Be patient, dependable, and steady under pressure.
  • Pass a background check.
  • Have a "can-do" attitude when it comes to developing/establishing future needs at the Woodlands Impact Center.

Qualifications

  • Retirees, tradespeople, landscapers, and hands-on problem solvers are especially encouraged to apply!

Schedule

Hours may vary based on the time of year, but with the August 2026 opening of the Woodlands Impact Center, this position will require additional needs. Here’s the ideal schedule for this position starting in April 2026:

  • Spring: April & May (end of school year): Monday - Friday: 2 - 7:30pm Saturday: 7am - 3pm Sunday: As needed based on weather for the week
  • Summer: May - August (start of school year): Monday - Friday: 7am - 3pm Saturday & Sunday: As needed based on weather for the week
  • Fall: August - October: August is the opening of the Woodlands Impact Center - final structure of the role TBD
  • Lawn Care Supervisor Monday - Friday: 2 - 7:30pm Saturday: 7am - 3pm Sunday: As needed based on weather for the week
