About the role

The Nampa School District is seeking a dedicated Law Enforcement Teacher to join the CTE department at Nampa High School. This position will work closely with the School Principal and CTE Director to provide secondary law enforcement students with a comprehensive educational experience.

Responsibilities

  • Create a dynamic environment that allows students to explore various aspects of law enforcement, including careers, law, communication, defensive tactics, and corrections.
  • Work closely with the Nampa Police Department and local colleges/businesses to develop meaningful instructional experiences and ensure competitive graduates.
  • Design lessons with appropriate difficulty levels, using class time effectively, and provide instruction based on student needs.
  • Use a variety of instructional techniques and media, and modify instruction based on student progress and data.
  • Manage a safe, positive, and respectful learning environment, and implement Idaho Core Standards and district instructional goals.
  • Prepare students for district and state testing, advise a career-technical student organization, and communicate with students, parents, and the school community.
  • Assist in upholding school rules, maintain accurate records, and participate in professional development activities.
  • Communicate and collaborate with students, parents, and the school community to foster individual student success and growth.

Requirements

  • Must possess a current Idaho Education Credential with a Law Enforcement endorsement (6-12).
  • Have evidence of 6,000 industry hours in the past five years or hold a baccalaureate degree in a closely related field for Limited Occupational Specialist Certification.
  • Must complete certification within three years if eligible.

  • Understanding of curriculum and methods of instruction.
  • Treatment of all students fairly and equally.
  • Positive behavior management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with parents and the community.
  • Willingness to go above and beyond in supporting students' success.
  • Proficiency in internet, email, Microsoft Office, and other relevant educational software systems.
  • Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data.
  • Willingness to be held accountable for student results.

This is a 170-day calendar assignment.

Pay

According to the Certified Teacher Salary Schedule.
