Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Able to exercise sound judgement and render immediate, appropriate decisions, under stressful conditions.

  • Courtesy in inter-person relationships with the public, airport employees, tenants, law enforcement and security personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of terminals, parking areas, access points, perimeter areas, and other assigned airport facilities to help deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as assigned, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with emergency responders and airport authorities as needed.
  • Carry and maintain authorized equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, Allied Universal procedures, and site-specific policies.

Requirements

  • Possess at least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be able to lift up to 20 pounds, preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

  • No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C.922(g)(9)) or documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings (referring to the decisions in Giglio v. United States, 405 U.S. 105 (1972) and United States v. Henthorn, 931 F. 2d 29 (9th Cir. 1991)).
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions.

Skills

  • Ability to supervise Contractor’s personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies and the public on matters relating to security disputes, complaints on the performance, conduct or behavior of subordinate employees.
