About the role

Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a government airport location in Honolulu, HI. You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, respond to security-related concerns, and deliver professional customer service and communication. This driving position requires a valid driver’s license and offers the opportunity to work with an agile, innovative team that prioritizes integrity and people.

• Day shifts: Wednesday 07:30 AM – 04:00 PM, Sunday 07:00 AM – 03:30 PM

Pay

$34.50 per hour

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Exercise sound judgment and render immediate, appropriate decisions under stressful conditions.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of airport facilities, terminals, parking areas, roadways, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor for and report suspicious activity, unattended property, hazards, and policy violations; communicate observations promptly through required channels.
• Maintain required reports, activity logs, and incident documentation; operate assigned communications equipment and maintain firearms qualifications and other required credentials.
• Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees, and agency personnel while carrying out site-specific procedures, access control requirements, and emergency response activities.
• Coordinate with airport operations and law enforcement personnel as appropriate.
• May be required to provide court appearances for citations issued on behalf of DOTA; replacement staffing will be provided for LEOs attending court proceedings.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level).
• Graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent (must provide credentials upon applying).
• Valid Driver’s License (required for driving positions).
• Law Enforcement Officer License.
• 22+ years of age.
• Able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C. 922(g)(9)).
• No documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings.
• Must pass a security background check conducted by the DOTA pass and ID office.
• Must pass a one-time physical examination within the past 6 months and a 12-panel drug test, including future random drug testing.
• Correctable vision to 20/30 in each eye with normal color vision.
• Able to hear at a normal conversational level (hearing aid permitted).
• Must be mentally and emotionally capable of performing all duties, including moderate to arduous physical exertion such as standing, walking, patrolling for entire shifts, climbing stairs, running, and self-defense.
• Ability to perform essential physical tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:
  • Lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. for a designated distance.
  • Assisting in the safe evacuation of individuals, including carrying a small child or supporting persons with limited mobility.
  • Exercising physical force, if required, in the execution of official duties.
• Well-groomed and neat in appearance as officially commissioned representatives of the State.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to supervise personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies, and the public on security-related matters.
• Strong moral character, truthfulness, and professional conduct.
• Maturity in conduct, behavior, and attitude; ability to take orders, follow instructions, and accept responsibility for actions.
• Alertness, attentiveness, and ability to recognize, respond to, and take appropriate corrective actions in various situations.

Qualifications

The following formal education, licenses, and certifications are required:

• Completion of one of the following approved programs:
  • Certified State law enforcement recruit training.
  • Certified County law enforcement recruit training.
  • Federal law enforcement training.
  • Programs approved by the Director.
