You will join a well-respected team with responsibility for coordinating the District's law enforcement programs and initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a comprehensive Law Enforcement Coordination program
  • Establishing and maintaining communication between the United States Attorney's Office and federal, state, and local organizations
  • Providing information directly to state and local law enforcement organizations by active service and participation in task forces, committees, and associations
  • Analyzing law enforcement programs, audiences, and priorities
  • Identifying the informational and resource needs of law enforcement organizations
  • Developing and disseminating relevant information through appropriate media
  • Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen or National
  • Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation
  • You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable
  • If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period
  • You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement

Qualifications

GS-12: To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which could have been gained in the federal, public, and/or private sector.

Specialized Experience is defined as:

  • Analyzing law enforcement organizational needs to develop and administer a comprehensive law enforcement coordination program
  • Developing and/or overseeing various project/program activities to reduce one or more of the following priorities: gun violence, drug trafficking, hate crimes, environmental crimes, human trafficking
  • Collaborating with law enforcement officials and/or public safety organizations to address public safety issues, challenges and needs
  • Identifying, compiling, analyzing, and organizing information for detailed oral and written reports (e.g., strategic plans, program materials, briefing documents) and decision making
  • Developing and presenting information orally and in writing to train others and/or aid managers in decision making
