About the role
The Law Clerk is assigned to the chambers of Justice Sabrina S. McKenna of the Hawaii Supreme Court and provides legal research, analysis, and case-preparation support to an Associate Justice of the Hawaii Supreme Court.
Responsibilities
- Conducts research on routine and complex legal issues.
- Analyzes statutes, case law, briefs, and other legal authorities.
- Identifies relevant precedents.
- Prepares concise legal memoranda summarizing research findings.
- Reviews briefs and draft opinions for the accuracy and applicability of legal citations and quotations.
- Studies case records and transcripts in preparation for hearings.
- Attends oral arguments to support the Justice’s consideration and resolution of cases.
Requirements
- Graduation from a school of law recognized by the American Bar Association with a Juris Doctor degree.

Pay
$6,998 per month (SR-20, Step L).
