Law Clerk – Asian & Pacific Islander Community Outreach Project
About the role
The Law Clerk – Asian & Pacific Islander Community Outreach Project (PART TIME) position at LAFLA is available.
Responsibilities
- Prepares legal papers (i.e., pleadings, motions, and forms)
- Conducts intake through hotlines and clinics and answers inquiries on legal procedures
- Assists attorneys or legal staff with interpreting for limited-English proficient clients
- Supports short-term legal projects, including trial preparation tasks
- Participates in community outreach and education projects
Requirements
- Computer proficiency; experience with Word and Excel
- Understanding of and commitment to social justice
- Good written and oral communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently
- Ability to work collaboratively with all LAFLA staff, clients, and community organizations
- Bilingual in an API language strongly preferred

- Must be local and willing to work from the assigned LAFLA location
