Laundry Supervisor
About the role
We’re looking for a Laundry Supervisor to oversee our team of laundry attendants, achieve operational objectives, and ensure quality controls are in place. If you enjoy working with others, thrive in a supervisory role, and prefer an active work environment over a desk job, this could be a great fit. No prior laundry or supervisory experience is necessary—we’re willing to train the right person.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside Laundry Attendants to wash, dry, sort, fold, and organize terry and linens.
- Oversee daily operations of the laundry facility, ensuring quality controls and safety policies are followed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the linen area.
- Assist the Stateside Housekeeping & Laundry Manager with verifying laundry requests are completed for each Resort department in a timely manner.
- Ensure filled linen carts are placed in designated areas.
- Order laundry supplies and monitor scheduling needs based on occupancy levels.
- Participate in ongoing training for laundry team members.
- Report equipment issues to the Maintenance Department and the Stateside Housekeeping & Laundry Manager.
- Assist in yearly linen inventory and maintain accurate counts of discarded linens.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships, support team goals, and address employee concerns.
- Identify, recommend, and implement improvements for efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, or cost savings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor, which may be related or unrelated to the original position.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervise up to 15 employees in the Laundry Department.
- Train employees, plan workdays, direct workloads, and resolve problems.
- Report serious employee issues to management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months of related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using units like money, weight, volume, and distance.
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but straightforward instructions and handle problems with concrete variables.
- Professional and courteous attitude toward guests, employees, and the public.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
- Ability to taste or smell.
Work Environment
- Occasionally exposed to wet/humid conditions, outdoor weather, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, fumes, airborne particles, or vibration.
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and moderate noise levels.
- Work venues include steep stairways, multilevel buildings, outdoor areas, and semi-remote locations accessible only by chairlift, skis, or snowboards.
- Walking surfaces may be frozen, sloped, or slippery; proper footwear is required.
- Workdays and hours vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
