Laundry Processing Attendant

About the role

The primary responsibility of this position is to collect, wash, and distribute clean linens and apparel for assigned areas.

Core duties and responsibilities

• Collects soiled linens from department according to schedule.
• Completes processing tasks such as counting, weighing, and recording items.
• Utilizes automated equipment or manual processes to process and clean the laundry.
• Delivers clean linens to departments and responds to special delivery or pick up requests.
• Follows all sanitation and infection control guidelines.

Physical requirements

• Sitting, Standing, Bending, Lifting, and Moving around facility.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and push a minimum of 125 lbs.
• Able to push and pull heavy, wet linen and move equipment and supplies throughout the work day.
• Must be able to wear appropriate protective gear.

Working environment

• Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and different types of cleaning and laundry chemicals.

Skills and abilities

• Able to follow direction as given.
• Able to communicate with other employees and patients in a proper manner.
• Knowledge of infection control procedures.
