LAUNDRY HELPER

About the role

The Laundry Helper performs duties related to all aspects of the production areas of the laundry, from receiving items to be cleaned through preparing clean items for distribution.

Responsibilities

• Receives and/or delivers linens to/from truck and delivers to designated areas.
• Records weight and/or count of linen.
• Assists in loading or unloading washers and/or dryers.
• Sorts linen into categories and prepares linen for washing and/or ironing.
• Assists in hand folding of items as needed.
• Packs linen into baskets, carts, etc., for transporting.
• Operates various laundry machines as directed, except washers/extractors.
• Maintains laundry equipment and area in a clean and safe condition.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Three months of on-the-job training is required to attain proficiency.
• Must have proper color vision for classifying client linens and detecting stains.
