Laundry Attendant - Hilton - Harrisburg, PA

About the role

Award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, Hotel Equities, seeks a Laundry Attendant for the Hilton Harrisburg in Harrisburg, PA.

Responsibilities

• Perform all stages of linen processing (sorting and weighing soiled and unsold linen, loading and unloading washers and dryers, folding and storing linen, recording poundage produced and weighing incoming and outgoing laundry).
• Assist in laundry inventories.
• Clean laundry area. Set up house attendant amenities for pick-up.
• Assist with the upkeep of basement hallway and staff elevator.
• Clean laundry machines.
• Keep work area neat and organized.
• Report all mechanical problems and hazardous conditions to supervisor, manager or security department.

Requirements

• Ability to arrive on time and when scheduled.
• Ability to stand for up to 7 hours a day and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to operate washer and dryer equipment.
• Physically able to move/lift large, heavy objects such as linen, linen carts and/or bags of linen.
• Physically able to operate cleaning equipment such as brooms, spray bottles.
• Able to communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally or in written form, over the phone or in person.
• Able to learn, follow and enforce standards for cleanliness as they apply to the laundry area.
• Able to follow all safety procedures/standards and able to recognize and act in emergency situations.
