About the role

Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is seeking a Laundry Attendant for the Hilton Harrisburg in Harrisburg, PA.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a constant supply of clean linens for the hotel.
• Perform all stages of linen processing (i.e., sorting and weighing soiled and unsold linen, loading and unloading washers and dryers, folding and storing linen, recording poundage produced and weighing incoming and outgoing laundry).
• Assist in laundry inventories.
• Clean laundry area. Set up house attendant amenities for pick-up.
• Auxiliary tasks include cleaning laundry machines, keeping work area neat and organized, reporting all mechanical problems and hazardous conditions to supervisor, manager or security department, maintaining a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance, assimilating into the Hilton Family Pride/Care culture through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements of Pride/Care, demonstrating working knowledge of service standards, regular attendance in conformance with the standards which may be established by Hilton from time to time, essential to the successful performance of this position.
• The hospitality business functions seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.

Requirements

• Ability to arrive to work on time and when scheduled.
• Ability to stand on feet for up to 7 hours a day and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to operate washer and dryer equipment.
• Physically able to move/lift large, heavy objects such as: linen, linen carts and/or bags of linen.
• Physically able to operate cleaning equipment such as: brooms, spray bottles.
• Able to communicate effectively with guests and team members verbally or in written form, over the phone or in person.
• Able to learn, follow and enforce standards for cleanliness as they apply to the laundry area.
• Able to follow all safety procedures/standards and able to recognize and act in emergency situations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• The hotel provides the required PPE. It is your responsibility to report defective, damaged or lost PPE, or equipment that does not fit properly, to your manager.
• You will be exposed to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, humidity, cold, heat, dust and noise. Frequently: noise of machinery, vibrations, dust, chemicals, cold and heat.
