Laundry Attendant - Full Time-2

About the role

We’re Sonesta International Hotels—an epic blend of full-service and focused hotels in major cities, with a uniquely diverse portfolio of owned, managed, and franchised properties. As a Laundry Attendant (LA), you’ll work with the Housekeeping Management Team in the commercial laundry facility, ensuring the hotel’s laundry and linen needs are met. You may also be scheduled to clean guest rooms and public spaces according to brand standards to deliver total guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
• Receive, sort, and inspect all laundry and linens by kind, color, and degree of soil; record damaged or stained items.
• Operate washers and dryers according to hotel standards and manufacturers’ guidelines.
• Monitor laundry supplies and equipment to ensure they are sufficient and in working order.
• Fold and store clean linens; report damages to supervisor.
• Clean and service assigned rooms or areas, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash, and cleaning kitchen areas (e.g., refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, dishware).
• Notify supervisor when service is completed so rooms may be sold or occupied; report any room unable to be serviced.
• Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Respond to guest complaints and special requests, ensuring corrective action is taken for complete guest satisfaction.
• Minimize waste of supplies and amenities within laundry and housekeeping areas.
• Handle all lost and found items according to established procedures.
• Assist with deep cleaning projects as needed.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding health and safety services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Some previous commercial laundry experience preferred.
• Previous background from the extended stay industry preferred.
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English is preferred; other languages beneficial.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematical abilities are preferred.
• Frequently standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility.
• Ability to carry, lift, or pull items weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Regular use of commercial cleaning chemicals.
• Willingness to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay

Pay range: $15.00/Hour - $17.00/Hour. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and specific experience/overall experience.
