This position plays a vital role in preparing the hotel for the following day by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and guest satisfaction. Flexible scheduling availability is required, including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial washers, dryers, and folding equipment while following proper laundry procedures.
- Wash, dry, fold, organize, and distribute hotel linens, towels, bedding, and uniforms.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of clean linens and restock housekeeping closets throughout the shift.
- Keep the laundry room clean, organized, and operating efficiently.
- Monitor laundry equipment and report any maintenance concerns immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness of all public areas including the lobby, hallways, elevators, fitness center, breakfast area, public restrooms, laundry facilities, and exterior entrances.
- Vacuum, mop, dust, clean glass, sanitize high-touch surfaces, and remove trash throughout the property.
- Assist housekeeping by delivering linens, amenities, supplies, cribs, rollaway beds, and other guest-request items.
- Respond promptly to guest service requests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Assist with stripping rooms, making beds, removing trash, and other housekeeping duties as needed.
- Maintain organization of housekeeping storage rooms and replenish supplies throughout the shift.
- Perform routine property walks to identify cleanliness, maintenance, or safety concerns.
- Recognize and report potential safety hazards including water leaks, broken equipment, damaged fixtures, or security concerns.
- Follow all hotel safety, sanitation, and OSHA guidelines while handling chemicals and operating equipment.
- Support other departments as needed to ensure smooth hotel operations during evening hours.
Requirements
- Previous hotel housekeeping or laundry experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work evening shifts.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Highly motivated team player with strong initiative and a positive attitude.
- Ability to effectively identify and solve problems while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
- Readily available and approachable for guests while providing exceptional hospitality.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
- Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
