Laundry Attendant

About the role

Assure efficient retrieval, processing, and distribution of laundry to provide laundry services to our guests.

Responsibilities

• Sort all stained or damaged items and determine status for rewash or discard; maintain continuous inventory of discarded items.
• Operate the ironing and folder machines according to specifications, processing cleaned articles through the machines.
• Fold cleaned articles and stack into designated amounts by type and size, then place stacks in specified distribution areas.
• Remove lint and debris from dryer filters as specified in departmental procedures.
• Use cleaning chemicals according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
• Check the working condition and cleanliness of laundry machinery.
• Monitor usage of chemicals and water to maximize consumption efficiency.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas throughout the shift.
• Restock work areas for the next shift as assigned.
• Turn in all lost and found items and guest room keys.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety and security rules.
• Follow department fire prevention and emergency procedures; utilize protective equipment.
• Report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, near-misses, or property damage to management.
• Provide a safe work environment by following all safety and security procedures.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per team member handbook standards.
• Perform related duties as requested by supervisor or manager.
• Assist other Housekeeping Personnel when needed.

Requirements

• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent bending while loading/unloading washers and dryers, sorting linen, and folding.
• Continuous movement throughout the department.
• Standing required during the entire shift.
• Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.

Qualifications

• No previous experience required.
• Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
