Laundry Assistant

Operational Duties

• Operate washing machines to wash resident clothing, linens, and towels.
• Labels resident clothing, linens, and towels.
• Collects and sorts soiled articles for laundry.
• Inspects soiled articles to determine sources of stains, locate color imperfections, and identify items requiring special treatment.
• Operates laundry machinery (washers, dryers, sewing machine, hot seal machine) to complete laundry process.
• Folds, verifies, counts, dates, stores, or delivers clean clothes, table linens, and other articles for resident or staff use.
• Conducts count of linens for inventory.

Cleaning and Maintenance

• Cleans laundry room, chemical room, and maintains upkeep on equipment such as washers and dryers.
• Distributes, handles, adds, and changes laundry chemicals for use following established safety procedures.
