Laundry Aide (Environmental Services Technician) at St. Annes

Full-time position focused primarily on laundry services with occasional housekeeping responsibilities in a healthcare/senior living setting. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30am-2:00pm.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain effective communication with all individuals and promote a positive image of the entity in the community.
  • Perform on-call services as assigned.
  • Clean and disinfect assigned areas, including resident rooms, apartments, common areas, and employee work areas.
  • Tasks include mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, removing garbage/hazardous waste, cleaning furniture, windows, stairs, doors, bathrooms, and removing soiled linens.
  • Cross-train to work in all areas of the community.
  • Perform periodic deep-cleaning tasks such as wall washing, drapery/curtain washing, vents, and blinds.
  • Clean up unexpected accidents, spills, blood, and body wastes using appropriate safety precautions.
  • Operate floor-cleaning machines, buffers, wet/dry vacuums, and other equipment.
  • Follow Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all housekeeping chemicals and equipment.
  • Know and adhere to all safety codes (fire, tornado, disaster, etc.).
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling blood and body fluids, following universal precautions.
  • Read and adhere to resident rights agreements; report violations immediately.
  • Perform only trained tasks and operate equipment only with proper instruction.
  • Maintain a calm, composed attitude when dealing with difficult residents and families.
  • Maintain good attendance and take breaks only as assigned.
  • Work cooperatively with all disciplines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High school degree or equivalent required.
