Position Summary
The Laundry Aide is responsible for ensuring all linens, garments, and personal items are cleaned, folded, and distributed in a timely manner. This role is essential to maintaining the comfort and satisfaction of our residents and the smooth operation of our facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, sort, and launder linens, clothing, and other items in accordance with established protocols.
- Operate and maintain washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect items for wear and damage, reporting issues to the supervisor.
- Fold and distribute clean laundry to designated areas or residents’ rooms.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laundry area.
- Follow infection control procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
- Assist with inventory management, ensuring an adequate supply of linens and laundry products.
- Respond promptly to special requests from residents, families, or staff.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to operate laundry equipment and follow safety guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical ability to lift, push, pull, and carry loads of up to 50 pounds.
- A reliable, punctual, and team player with a positive attitude.
