Laundry Aide

Essential Job Functions

• Sort and separate laundry items according to color, fabric type, and care instructions
• Operate and maintain laundry equipment, such as washing machines and dryers
• Load and unload laundry machines, ensuring proper weights and settings are used
• Use appropriate cleaning agents and laundry products to remove stains and odors
• Check and treat items for stains and damages before laundering
• Inspect and fold cleaned laundry items, ensuring they are properly sorted and stored
• Maintain inventory of laundry supplies and inform the supervisor when additional supplies are needed
• Assist with the delivery of clean laundry to the appropriate areas or individuals
• Follow safety procedures and maintain cleanliness in the laundry area
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and excellent service

Job Requirements

• Previous housekeeping/cleaning/laundry aide experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Ability to work independently and reschedule cleaning activities to meet the needs of residents or nursing staff
• Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with residents, families, visitors and co-workers
• Ability to read and understand Standard English
• Ability to work with standard cleaning chemicals
