Laundry Aide

Key Responsibilities

• Remove and dispose of trash and relieve laundry staff as needed.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.
• Interact appropriately with residents, clients, other personnel, your supervisor and the public.
• Respond to customer preferences, comply with industry and federal and state guidelines, and meet the needs of residents.
• Follow infection control and universal precautions policies and procedures to ensure that a sanitary environment is maintained.
• Follow proper reporting, isolation and handwashing procedures/techniques.
• Wash, dry fold and hang laundry.
• Label residents' clothing.
• Return residents' laundry within 8 to 24 hours.
• Daily cleaning the laundry department, sanitizing the washers and dryers, emptying the trash, sweep and mop.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Experience in housekeeping or healthcare settings is preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills are a must.
