Laundry Aide

About the role

As our Laundry Aide, you will be a central figure in maintaining essential hygiene and cleanliness standards, meticulously processing linens and garments for various departments. You will play a vital role in ensuring a consistent supply of clean, sanitized textiles that support health and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Expertly operate commercial laundry equipment, meticulously sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute high volumes of soiled and clean items according to established protocols and infection control guidelines
• Perform routine maintenance checks, identify malfunctions, and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the laundry facility, adhering strictly to safety regulations
• Launder linens according to infection control standards and remove damaged or stained items from inventory to maintain quality
• Collect and transport contaminated linens throughout the facility using covered carts in strict compliance with State Health Regulations
• Properly dispose of biohazardous materials, sanitize waste containers, and maintain a clean, organized workspace daily
• Stock and organize linen closets daily and maintain department supply areas weekly to ensure continuous availability for patient care
• Perform daily equipment checks, report malfunctions to maintenance, and submit repair requests to ensure operational efficiency
• Actively participate in departmental quality assurance monitoring to ensure ongoing adherence to hospital standards and safety protocols

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent
