Laundry Aide (24106)

We are seeking a full-time Laundry Aide to join our team. This position operates on a 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM shift.

About the Role

The Laundry Aide supports the delivery of laundry services in a long-term care or healthcare setting. Duties include washing, drying, folding, ironing, mending, and distributing linen or patients' clothing.

Qualifications

• Experience in a long-term care or healthcare laundry department is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Load laundry machines to proper weight/level, set cycles, and dispense detergents/chemicals.
• Sort laundry by color, fabric, and type; pre-soak as needed.
• Transfer sanitized laundry to dryers and fold/stack dried items.
• Iron and mend items as required.
• Distribute personal laundry to patients' closets using proper equipment.
• Clean and disinfect floors, appliances, folding tables, delivery carts, and other laundry areas.
• Maintain sanitation and quality standards; ensure proper storage of supplies.
• Identify and correct safety hazards; clean dryer vents after each load and building exteriors as needed.
• Ensure equipment is available and in good repair.
• Act as a Team Leader/Role Model when needed.
• Review and comply with Cantex Continuing Care Networks Clinical Policies and Procedures for Abuse Prevention.
• Attend weekly in-services and comply with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Assure patient/resident safety.
• Perform other essential functions as assigned.
