The Conflicts Analyst - Lateral has responsibility for the entire conflict research and identification process as it relates to the onboarding of new and lateral attorneys. With guidance from the firm’s Deputy General Counsel, the Conflicts Analyst - Lateral will ensure that all ethical conflicts have been resolved prior to a hiring decision, if necessary, and that candidates are aware of any potential conflicts related to portable or prospective clients. The Analyst also contributes to the intake of portable clients of lateral attorneys upon joining the firm. The Analyst may also contribute to conflicts research and identification as to the day-to-day new business of the firm, as needed. This person will also have the ability to independently execute and manage the entire lateral conflict check process at a very high level and is a mentor and go to resource to the Conflicts Analyst-Lateral position. Also, may be responsible for training new and junior level employees and involved in the development and implementation of department process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Prepares initial conflicts summaries and identification of potential conflicts of interest for lateral attorneys and non-lawyers (paralegals, assistants, etc.) who are not bringing portable clients to the firm
