About the role
The Laser Track Technician I performs basic dimensional inspection and measurement tasks using portable laser tracking systems under close supervision. This role supports production, tooling verification, and quality assurance activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist with setup and breakdown of laser tracker equipment.
- Operate laser tracker systems under supervision.
- Perform basic part inspections and collect measurement data.
- Verify fixture and tooling dimensions.
- Record data and generate basic inspection reports.
- Follow established metrology procedures and safety standards.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and calibration logs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
- 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or inspection.
- Basic understanding of blueprints and measurements.
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing fundamentals preferred.
- Attention to detail.

Travel Requirements
Between facilities as needed.
Physical Requirements
- May be required to stand, walk, sit, reach/pull/push with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel regularly.
- May lift or carry 50 lbs. Weights exceeding 50 lbs will require mechanical means to maneuver.
Work Environment
- Exposure is frequent to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles (eye protection is required), and fumes, machine vibration, and noisy conditions.
- High temperatures and occasional restricted-space work areas.
- All Keel locations are tobacco-free where appropriate.
