About the role

Toledo Tool & Die is adding a Laser Operator to our team to support continued growth. The Laser Operator supports and is under the direction of the Laser Supervisor to produce conforming laser-cut products, perform duties to ensure the laser runs properly, inspect product, perform routine preventative maintenance, record data, move materials, use a crane to load raw tubing, and maintain general housekeeping in work areas. This is a full-time, second-shift position based in Toledo, Ohio.

Schedule

Monday–Thursday, 3:30 pm – 1:30 am. Must be available to work overtime (daily, weekends, and some holidays).

Responsibilities

  • Start and/or operate Laser cells, monitor their operations, and record operational data.
  • Match and compare production parts with approved first piece for visual defects (e.g., chipped edges or marred surfaces) and sort defective pieces by flaw type.
  • Complete simple to intermediate mechanical tasks associated with set-up, breakdown, and coil changes (e.g., turning a wrench, securing coil arms, cleaning up oil, or sweeping).
  • Package finished materials in the proper container and label according to customer requirements.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Authority to stop production if unsafe parts or conditions appear.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Manager, which may be outside the noted responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must satisfactorily complete pre-employment screening (background check and drug screen).
  • Must be available to work overtime (daily, weekends, and holidays).
  • Experience operating large industrial equipment is preferred.
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Report to work on time to support production startup.
  • Possess good physical stamina and coordination.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Work as a team, demonstrate good communication skills, basic math skills, and physical dexterity.

  • Previous experience in a factory is beneficial but not necessary.
