Laser Operator #2

Job Overview

About the role

Perform production work on the laser loading and unloading parts and run the machine safely and efficiently under the supervision of the Laser Operator #1 or a lead person. There is an opportunity to acquire the skills necessary to advance to Laser Operator #1 classification.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand blueprints and routings and produce parts to the required tolerances.
• Ensure the quality of the parts being produced through first piece inspection and subsequent inspections.
• Perform laser scale/burr removal on low quantity parts.
• Take care of routine maintenance and keep the work area clean and neat.
• Follow all rules regarding machine operation and machine guarding.
• Maintain simple reports on productivity, quality, and safety.

Requirements

• Possess and be able to use machinist squares, dial calipers, and other inspection equipment to ensure the quality of the parts being produced.
• Physically able to do work requiring frequent standing, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
• Able to lift and carry, push and pull up to 30 lbs. frequently.
• Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions and prepare simple production reports.
• Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to operate the equipment properly.
