About the role

As a Large Loss Field Property Adjuster at Allstate, you will provide exceptional service to our policyholders by traveling to customers' homes to conduct on-site inspections, investigate coverage, prepare estimates, and settle claims promptly and efficiently. You will also handle virtual claims countrywide using platforms like Xactimate and ClaimsX Video Collaboration, with a focus on fire and water losses.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a customer service expert by embodying Allstate’s Claims Culture of caring, empowering, and restoring through compassionate, clear, and committed claim handling.
  • Investigate property claims independently by reviewing damage and interpreting policies to determine coverage.
  • Communicate with customers via phone, email, or video chat to guide them through a fast, fair, and easy claims process, tailoring communication to their preferences.
  • Evaluate and negotiate claims settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants in accordance with legal and business standards, including handling complex situations.
  • Utilize tools like estimate software, job aids, and settlement platforms to solve problems efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in claims systems to protect the company financially and ensure compliance with policy agreements.

Requirements

  • 4 years of experience as an outside adjuster is highly desired.
  • Experience handling claims involving multiple trades and losses over $100,000.
  • Proficiency in Xactimate and other relevant estimating software.
  • Strong critical thinking and technical skills to assess damages and expedite settlements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to travel to customers' homes and handle virtual claims countrywide.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
  • Residency within the posted location is mandatory.
  • Must be able to carry a 50-pound ladder and access roofs with up to a 6/12 pitch.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.

This position is not available for residents of California, Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico.

Licensing

  • Individuals with an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and may not hold outside appointments during employment.
  • Applicants with a resident producer license must surrender it when instructed by the licensing team.
  • Your office or area may require you to obtain an adjuster and/or appraiser license, including passing an additional background check with the Department of Labor. If applicable, you must secure the license(s) within 60 days of hire.

Training

The training program includes approximately 2 weeks of in-person training in Dallas, TX, to build a claims foundation and understand day-to-day systems and processes. Ongoing training opportunities for continuous improvement are provided on the job.

Pay

Base compensation for this role is $72,000 - $117,700 annually, based on experience and qualifications. Total compensation may include incentive pay (e.g., commission, bonus) as applicable.

You may be eligible for a $1,000 Licensing Sign-On Bonus if you hold the applicable active licenses, such as a Home Resident Property & Casualty License, Designated Home State (DHS) Florida or Texas License, and/or an applicable Appraiser License.
