Large Animal Surgery Clinician
About the role
Support the emergency service within Purdue University's Equine and Farm Animal Hospitals, providing advanced medical and surgical care for a diverse range of large animal species, including horses, cattle, swine, sheep, goats, camelids, and select exotics. As part of Purdue's commitment to excellence in veterinary medicine, teaching, and service, you will provide both direct support for daytime and after-hours emergencies and guidance to interns and residents managing emergency cases. You will help shape the next generation of veterinary professionals through clinical mentoring and student instruction.
Working alongside faculty, house officers, and fellow clinicians, you will play a critical role in managing surgical and medical emergencies in a collaborative, team-focused environment dedicated to exceptional patient care and outstanding client service. You will also oversee DVM and Veterinary Nursing students participating in emergency rotations, creating meaningful learning experiences that support Purdue's mission of education, discovery, and impact.
Opportunities to participate in daytime surgery or medicine services may be available, though emergency service remains the primary focus of the role.
