About the role
Vishay Centerline is seeking a Diamond Polisher Operator to set up and operate precision lapping equipment to process ceramic, glass, and advanced material substrates to customer specifications for thickness, flatness, parallelism, and surface finish.
This is a 2nd shift position: 2pm-12:30am, Monday-Thursday (4-day work week). Job location: Hudson, MA.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate lapping machines
- Lap ceramic and advanced materials
- Monitor material removal rates
- Prepare and mix lapping slurries
- Load and unload fixtures
- Read travelers and work instructions
- Measure thickness and dimensions
- Inspect parts during processing
- Condition lapping plates
- Complete production documentation
- Maintain equipment
- Maintain a clean work area (5S)
- Report equipment issues
- Follow quality procedures
- Follow all safety requirements
- Participate in continuous improvement
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Ability to read work instructions
- Use precision measuring tools
- Basic math skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
- Lapping, polishing, or machining experience
- Semiconductor manufacturing experience
- SpeedFam or similar equipment experience
- Ceramic or advanced materials manufacturing
- SPC knowledge
- Precision measurement experience

Schedule
