Language Curriculum Specialist | Part-Time | Provo MTC

Responsibilities

  • Helps to create, modify and improve curriculum resources for missionaries and teachers
  • Analyzes and evaluates curriculum materials and provides insight and feedback to create new or refine existing resources
  • Captures, tracks and maintains data including data entry, filing, copying, scanning, and creating and managing spreadsheets
  • Develops tools to help gather data on the impact of pilot efforts and to help track our effectiveness and efficiency
  • Teaches and/or trains pilot participants (missionaries, teachers and others) on curriculum approaches and accompanying resources
  • Communicates regularly with Language Curriculum Managers on the progress of curriculum projects
  • Organizes translated materials, recordings, video clips and demonstrations and cuts clips into in-house training videos
  • Tracks iteration versions of curriculum materials

Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience (combined) in any of the following: teaching, training, developing curriculum, linguistics, evaluation, or instructional design
  • Detail-oriented, creative, analytical, able to work well with ambiguity, and under pressure
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Proficient in specified language if hired for Language Curriculum position
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing (in English and second language for Language Curriculum position)
  • Ability to cooperate, and to give and accept feedback from others
  • Willingness to give and follow directions
  • Willingness to receive training from MTC Curriculum Managers and Training Managers
  • High aptitude for experience learning, and successfully using new software applications
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time and use monitors/equipment
