Language Arts Teacher
About the Role
AoPS Academy is seeking a Language Arts Instructor to teach advanced students in an engaging, collaborative classroom setting. This is a part-time, in-person position at our Fremont location.
Responsibilities
- Teach company-created curriculum and materials designed for advanced students in small language arts classes
- Actively involve students in each class for student-led learning
- Expertly manage classrooms of up to 16 students
- Provide feedback on tests
- Build relationships with students and families to make a lasting impact on their educational journey
- Encourage a love for learning and critical thinking in language arts
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; Bachelor's degree in education or a humanities field strongly preferred
- Strong content knowledge in reading, writing, and/or grammar
- Experience teaching or tutoring students
- Must be located in Fremont, CA or the greater area and able to commute to campus
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US (no sponsorship available, including STEM-OPT and H-1B)
Schedule
- Classes held weekday after-school hours (as early as 4pm) and/or weekends
- Minimum initial commitment of about 3 hours per week for each assigned class
- Each course meets once per week for 1 hour 45 minutes
Pay & Benefits
- Pay rate: $42.50 – $42.81/hour
