About the role
This position supports an anticipated U.S. government contract that requires U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency (green card). Eligibility is subject to those requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and implement a full educational teaching plan that improves student proficiency in the target language through the creative utilization of authentic resources.
- Tailor instruction to individual student needs and make the learning process student-centered and meaningful.
- Develop foreign language instructional materials and curricula.
- Identify and develop level-appropriate language learning materials based on Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) levels, text typology, and OPI or other proficiency assessments.
- Teach the target language at a college or professional level, including experience with members of the U.S. government and/or military, in-person and/or online.
- Use online learning tools, including Learning Management Systems and video conferencing platforms (i.e., Zoom, Adobe Connect, Skype, or equivalent).
Requirements
- Minimum two (2) years of experience teaching the target language at a college or professional level, including experience with members of the U.S. government and/or military, in-person and/or online.
- Native or near-native proficiency in the target language. Familiarity with Oral Proficiency Interviews (OPI) or other proficiency assessments, such as ACTFL, is a plus.
- Strong writing proficiency in English.
- Experience using online learning tools, including Learning Management Systems and video conferencing platforms (i.e., Zoom, Adobe Connect, Skype, or equivalent).
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, preferably in second language teaching or a related field. Years of relevant experience may be substituted for a degree.

- Proficiency in English and ability to write effectively.

Pay
$30.00 - $38.00 per hour
