Position Overview
Landside Security Officer
Location: San Diego, CA
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / On-Call
Reports To: Site Supervisor / Operations Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Control access to secured facilities and verify credentials
- Conduct foot and vehicle patrols of assigned areas
- Monitor activity and report suspicious behavior or security incidents
- Enforce site-specific security policies and procedures
- Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergencies as directed
- Maintain detailed logs, reports, and incident documentation
- Cookordinate with supervisors, site personnel, and emergency responders
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience
- Experience working in industrial, port, or shipyard environments
- Guard card or state security license (where applicable)
- First aid / CPR certification
- Familiarity with access control systems and CCTV monitoring
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors
- Ability to lift and carry moderate weight as required
- Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations
