About the role

Level Green Landscaping is hiring an Operations Manager for our new Alexandria Branch. You will oversee landscape installations and management tasks, manage and train crews, handle material procurement, and coordinate with subcontractors. This position requires a hands-on approach and strong leadership to deliver exceptional results across diverse project scopes.

Responsibilities

  • Safety: Keep crews safe; perform daily tasks safely using all tools and equipment according to company safety policies.
  • Knowledge: Apply strong horticultural knowledge with a landscaping and construction background focused on flower, softscape, and hardscape installations.
  • Training: Provide in-field training for your teams and participate in required training programs.
  • Machinery Operation: Operate skid steers, loaders, chainsaws, chippers, grinders, ditchwitches, mini-excavators, and similar equipment.
  • Quality Service: Ensure high-quality standards by adhering to industry best practice guidelines.
  • Efficiency: Train your team on lean principles and removing waste.
  • Employee Development: Understand your teams' strengths, weaknesses, and goals; take an active role in their development.
  • Staffing: Staff your team, collaborate with the Branch Manager on staffing needs, and maintain a constant recruiting effort.
  • Inspection and Planning: Inspect properties, projects, and daily work before scheduling to anticipate challenges and ensure client expectations and quality standards are met.
  • Coordination: Oversee all aspects of project execution, including sourcing and purchasing materials, field employees, equipment, and subcontractors for landscape and snow-related projects.
  • Administration: Maintain accurate administrative tracking systems, including time approvals, work ticket completions, purchasing materials, timely processing of purchasing orders, and scheduling.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Assist in planning, developing, and leading strategic initiatives for enhancement projects.
  • Collaboration: Attend production and team meetings, collaborate with account managers and vendors, recommend additional work, and help exceed the branch's financial goals.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate strong technical capabilities and learn the company's software applications, such as Aspire.
  • Exceptional Service: Deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality service to clients, vendors, and company staff.
  • Policy Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of landscape installation or project management experience
  • Strong enthusiasm, dependability, and time management skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and/or Google Docs
  • Effective communication with clients and collaborative teamwork ability
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Able to lift over 50 lbs
  • Capable of learning and utilizing Aspire, the company's business management software
  • At least 21 years old
  • Available to work Saturdays and in various weather conditions
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, but not required
