Landscaper

General Purpose

Provides for the care and maintenance of the turf area, ornamental trees, shrubs, bedding plants, and flowers.

Responsibilities

• Prepares soil for planting beds and lawn areas.
• Operates mechanical equipment such as mowers, weed trimmers and utility vehicles.
• Plants trees, shrubs, turf grass and flowers.
• Prunes and trims trees and shrub.
• Maintains a clean landscape environment through trash removal and debris cleanup.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Maintains landscape through application of mulch, water, fertilizer and grooming.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Clubhouse landscaper will also be used on the golf course from time to time.

Requirements

• Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

• Frequently stands and walks; uses hands; reaches with hands and arms; stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls; talks or hears.
• Occasionally sits, climbs and balances, tastes or smells.
• Frequently lifts up to 50 pounds.

Environment/Noise

• Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather); near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles, with toxic or caustic chemicals.
• Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions.
• Occasionally experiences vibration.

Certificates/Licenses

• Valid Driver’s License

• Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job.
