Responsibilities
- Maintain landscapes throughout the golf course, club amenities, residential homes, and common areas, including weeding (chemical and manual), lawn mowing, string trimming, edging, mulching, fertilizing, pruning, and raking.
- Install new landscape plantings and annual color (spring and fall) at residential homes, on the golf course, and around the club.
- Water and maintain new and annual plantings.
- Participate in leaf removal during dormant seasons as needed.
- Apply chemicals and fertilizers properly to maintain a healthy and aesthetically pleasing landscape.
- Safely operate hand tools and equipment such as push mowers, zero-turn mowers, skid steers, tractors, and mini-excavators.
- Keep all work areas orderly and neat.
- Assist with landscape projects as requested.
- Participate in daily set-up and closing of the department’s tools and equipment.
- Report any safety or maintenance issues immediately to the Landscape Manager/Horticulturist.
- Attend department meetings and trainings as necessary.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Prior experience in landscaping, preferably within a residential or hospitality environment.
- Ability to operate landscape machinery such as push rotary mowers, string trimmers, backpack blowers, utility vehicles, and riding mowers.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to operate vehicles safely.
- Plant knowledge and horticultural practices knowledge is a plus.
- Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; long hours may be required due to business demands.
- Ability to work in a team environment and stay calm during busy periods.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing/walking/moving for periods exceeding eight hours, and lifting/carrying items over fifty pounds.
