Landscape Technician

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Safely operates trimmers/edgers to manage vegetation around solar arrays.
• Maintains compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
• Cleans up areas and equipment to prevent vegetation growth.
• Collaborates with land maintenance contractors and sheep ranchers.
• Operates and maintains various landscaping equipment.
• Supports maintenance and clean-up of ponds and waterways.
• Assists with washing PV panels using specialized equipment.
• Identifies and implements process improvements.
• Applies over-the-counter chemicals as directed.

Desired Skills, Expertise and Competencies

• Applicator license credential preferred.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety and adherence to safety standards.
• Excellent hands-on abilities with mechanical and technical skills.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Knowledge of relevant safety and environmental regulations.
• Proactive problem-solving and value-add mindset.
• Positive and professional communication skills.
• Teamwork and willingness to assist others.

Education / Experience

• High school diploma or GED.
• Driver’s License preferred and/or ability to travel to site.
• Valid driver’s license required for operating company equipment and vehicles.

Working Conditions

• Outdoor work at solar power plants.
• Conditions include windy, dusty, high heat/humidity, wet, windy, and cold.
• Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, entering plant equipment, and use of personal protective safety equipment.
• May involve working around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals.
• Occasional lifting required.

Details of Compensation and Benefits

• Base pay range: $19.25 - $22.95 per hour.
• Total compensation package includes annual bonus.
• Benefits: medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, 401(k) eligibility, and paid time off.
