Landscape Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform landscaping maintenance duties including, but not limited to, planting, transplanting, pruning, mowing, seeding, weeding, and irrigating.
• Inspect and repair sprinkler systems, monitor plant or sod water needs, and eradicate nuisance plant material.
• Assist in seasonal exterior decorating as necessary.
• Spray application of pesticides and herbicides.
• Maintain a pleasant and unique appearance for guests by conducting walk-throughs and assessing the public space and guest room areas.
• Inform the Engineering Director of landscaping needs and maintain an organized system for work orders.
• Assist with minor set-ups for hotel meeting functions.
• Conduct pre-operation equipment safety checks when using any mower or other equipment.
• Handle difficult situations and guest complaints professionally and courteously.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D. Equivalent
• More than one year of related work experience, preferably in a resort setting.

Skills

• Knowledge of all plants, shrubs, flowers, pests, etc.
• Skilled in the proper and safe use of all tools, equipment, materials, chemicals, and products.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including teamwork, diversity relations, positive demeanor, dependability, and detail-oriented.
