ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair, according to specifications.
Inspect, examine, or test installed systems or pipelines, using pressure gauge, hydrostatic testing, observation, or other methods.
Select pipe sizes, types, or related materials, such as supports, hangers, or hydraulic cylinders, according to specifications.
Measure and mark pipes for cutting or threading.
Attach pipes to walls, structures, or fixtures, such as radiators or tanks, using brackets, clamps, tools, or welding equipment.
Assemble or secure pipes, tubes, fittings, or related equipment, according to specifications, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, or threading joints.
Lay out full scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, and related equipment, following blueprints.
Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections, using valve keys or wrenches.
Cut, thread, or hammer pipes to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders, or pipe benders.
Remove and replace worn components.
Inspect work sites for obstructions and to ensure that holes will not cause structural weakness.
Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education And/or Experience: 3+ years related pipe fitting experience.
Valid Arizona driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Good verbal and reading skills, including the ability to read and apply project plans and specifications, and installation instructions.
Ability to work within industry standards of accuracy.
Mechanical aptitude.
Ability to make decisions based on measurable criteria.
Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
Exposure to cold, heat, noise, outdoors, confining workspace, electrical hazards, chemicals, dust, and mechanical hazards.
Physical Demands: Sit, use hands to type, handle, or feel and talk or hear; occasionally stand or walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 60 pounds frequently.
