Program Overview
- Hands-On Field Training: Gain hands-on experience in multiple areas of field operations, working alongside crews and developing a comprehensive understanding of landscape production and branch operations.
- Job Shadowing: Gain exposure to key areas of the business by observing and engaging with teams involved in Field Operations, Irrigation, Enhancements, Sales, and Branch Leadership.
- Dedicated Mentorship: Work alongside an experienced mentor who will guide your progress, offer regular feedback, and support your professional development throughout the internship.
- Management & Leadership Development: Gain exposure to team building, professional etiquette, communication, leadership, and management best practices to help prepare you for future roles.
- Collaborative Team Environment: Contribute to meaningful projects while working alongside skilled professionals and fellow interns, fostering teamwork and shared learning.
- Professional Networking: Build lasting relationships with peers, mentors, and leaders within the organization, expanding your professional network and industry connections.
- Intern Choice Experience: Interns will have an opportunity to gain further training in the department of their choice at the end of the program as they wrap up their internship.
- Final Presentation: At the end of the program, interns will present their internship experience, highlighting key field experiences, projects, lessons learned, skills developed, and how they experienced and contributed to Ruppert's culture and values.
- Career Pathways: Top-performing interns may be considered for full-time employment opportunities following graduation.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- Candidates must be actively pursuing a degree in Horticulture, Turf Management, Agribusiness, Business Management, Operations Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a hands-on, fast-paced environment
- Interest in working in a team-oriented, customer-focused industry with a willingness to support a variety of operational needs
- Comfortable working in both office and outdoor field environments
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds as part of routine job duties
- Proficient in the use of computers and common software applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Pay
- $16–$18 per hour, depending on experience
