About the Role

The Landscape Maintenance 10‑12‑week paid internship offers a hands‑on, well‑rounded experience that provides insight into every aspect of branch operations. Interns work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment, building practical skills, expanding industry knowledge, and gaining exposure to day‑to‑day operations through meaningful projects.

Program Overview

• Hands‑On Field Training: work alongside crews and develop a comprehensive understanding of landscape production and branch operations.
• Job Shadowing: observe and engage with teams in Field Operations, Irrigation, Enhancements, Sales, and Branch Leadership.
• Dedicated Mentorship: receive guidance, regular feedback, and professional development support from an experienced mentor.
• Management & Leadership Development: learn team building, professional etiquette, communication, leadership, and management best practices.
• Collaborative Team Environment: contribute to meaningful projects while working with skilled professionals and fellow interns.
• Professional Networking: build lasting relationships with peers, mentors, and leaders across the organization.
• Intern Choice Experience: gain additional training in the department of choice at the end of the program.
• Final Presentation: present internship experience, highlighting field experiences, projects, lessons learned, skills developed, and contributions to Ruppert’s culture and values.
• Career Pathways: top‑performing interns may be considered for full‑time employment after graduation.

Internship Duration: May – August 2027 (10–12 weeks).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Actively pursuing a degree in Horticulture, Turf Management, Agribusiness, Business Management, Operations Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to adapt in a hands‑on, fast‑paced environment.
• Interest in a team‑oriented, customer‑focused industry with willingness to support a variety of operational needs.
• Comfortable working in both office and outdoor field environments.
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds as part of routine duties.
• Proficient with computers and common software applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
