Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader

About the Role

Maxalea is hiring an experienced Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader to lead a crew while working alongside the team maintaining commercial landscapes throughout the Baltimore area. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who knows landscape maintenance, can keep a crew productive, and takes pride in delivering quality work.

Pay: $22–$28/hour, based on experience

Responsibilities

• Lead and work alongside a landscape maintenance crew
• Assign daily tasks and keep the team organized and productive
• Perform mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, mulching, planting, and general landscape maintenance
• Operate commercial mowers, trimmers, blowers, edgers, and other landscape equipment
• Train and support new and less-experienced crew members
• Inspect completed work and ensure quality standards are met
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites
• Communicate professionally with clients and supervisors
• Track labor hours, materials, and job progress
• Lead toolbox talks and reinforce safe work practices

Requirements

• 2+ years of landscape maintenance experience
• Previous experience leading or directing a landscape crew preferred
• Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance practices and equipment
• Ability to safely operate commercial landscaping equipment
• Comfortable giving direction and working alongside the crew
• Dependable, organized, and able to keep a team on task
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Valid driver's license required
• DOT card or equipment certifications are a plus

Working Conditions

This is an active, outdoor position. You should be comfortable:

• Working outside in changing weather conditions
• Standing, walking, bending, and working on your feet throughout the day
• Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Working around landscape equipment, dust, pollen, and noise
• Starting early when needed
• Working occasional overtime or weekends based on workload
