Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader

About the role

Ensures technicians complete tasks effectively and efficiently by maintaining detailed daily customer job records, including labor hours, equipment, and materials used on each work ticket.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure tools and equipment are loaded on trucks prior to departure to the job site.
  • Manage loading/unloading of trucks and trailers in the morning and evening.
  • Supervise technicians onsite and delegate job tasks to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Oversee all work tickets and ensure completion according to schedule.
  • Inspect completed work tickets for quality to eliminate return visits or re-work due to poor quality or client satisfaction issues.
  • Ensure all work activities comply with safety standards, including government and company PPE requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas.
  • Submit accurate, completed work order documents to operations leadership at the end of each workday.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and structural drawings to delegate work activities.
  • Maintain a clean and safe worksite, including proper care of all company equipment.
  • Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Communicate crew member feedback (positive and negative) to operations leadership.
  • Oversee employee training and development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of landscape industry experience.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of leadership experience (preferred).
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Knowledge of all phases of landscaping projects.
  • Demonstrated leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail in all responsibilities.

Working Conditions

  • Outdoor work environment with exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Extended work hours during peak seasons.
  • Substantial physical activity, including strenuous and technical tasks.
  • Regular exposure to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, and sharp objects.
  • Potential exposure to air pollution, allergens, dust, pollen, insects, and other naturally occurring hazards.
