Landscape Instructor

About the role

The Laborers Training School is seeking a full-time Instructor with landscape experience to join our team. The responsibilities of an instructor include classroom/theory based instruction and landscape hands-on instruction for students, as well as the course outline and syllabus. Instructors will assess students to ensure comprehension of course material through evaluations and exit exams. This will require travel to our various training sites and possible training on Saturdays and/or evenings.

• Create and Maintain Course Outline and Syllabus
• Audit Students for Comprehension Through Evaluations and Exit Exams
• Travel to Various Training Sites
• Train on Saturdays and/or Evenings (as needed)

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of cement mason work experience and construction field experience
• A minimum of 3 years of supervisory/management experience is preferred
• Experience in the installation of the backflow system, setting pavers, chain saw operation, skip loader, and mini excavation operation
• Pass the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) test before hire
• General Knowledge and Experience of the Position's Industry Standards
• Ability to Pass a Pre-Employment Physical Agility Test Designed to Simulate Job Tasks Predictive of Ability to Perform Essential Physical Tasks of the Job
• Detail-Oriented

• Required to Stand, Walk, Reach, Lift, Climb or Balance, Stoop, Kneel, Crouch, or Crawl
• Able to Lift 90-100 Pounds of Weight for Demonstrations
