Duties And Responsibilities
- Carry out weekly job site inspections and complete job site checklists.
- Oversee the installation of landscape, irrigation, and site development materials.
- Schedule and coordinate timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Ensure crew productivity, quality control, and compliance with safety protocols.
- Manage job scheduling and coordinate with subcontractors.
- Lead weekly tailgate safety meetings and ensure employee attendance.
- Enforce on-site safety practices, including traffic hazard reviews, hard hat and safety gear checks, underground utility alerts, trade hazard evaluations, and general public safety assessments.
- Maintain hazardous communication folders with chemical safety forms.
- Report unsafe behavior or incidents to the Superintendent and Safety Office.
- Submit accident reports in accordance with company policy.
- Safeguard company assets and ensure proper use of materials and tools.
- Support internal controls to prevent fraud and ensure proper segregation of duties.
- Uphold confidentiality of proprietary information and comply with all laws, regulations, and company ethics policies.
- Periodically reconcile physical assets with accounting records.
Education And Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction or landscape installation.
- Proven leadership experience managing crews on active job sites.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail and a solid work ethic.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred.
- First Aid certification (or ability to become certified).
Physical Demands/Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. (mulch, fertilizer, etc.).
- Ability to load/unload burlaps with plant cuttings onto trailer (up to 50 lbs.).
- Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day.
- Work in or about situations near direct automotive traffic.
- Work near or about natural bodies of water.
- Work 8+ hours per day with applicable breaks x 5 days/week (some overtime/weekend work required).
- Ability to work in extreme conditions – temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time.
