Landscape Foreman

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Carry out weekly job site inspections and complete job site checklists.
  • Oversee the installation of landscape, irrigation, and site development materials.
  • Schedule and coordinate timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Ensure crew productivity, quality control, and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Manage job scheduling and coordinate with subcontractors.
  • Lead weekly tailgate safety meetings and ensure employee attendance.
  • Enforce on-site safety practices, including traffic hazard reviews, hard hat and safety gear checks, underground utility alerts, trade hazard evaluations, and general public safety assessments.
  • Maintain hazardous communication folders with chemical safety forms.
  • Report unsafe behavior or incidents to the Superintendent and Safety Office.
  • Submit accident reports in accordance with company policy.
  • Safeguard company assets and ensure proper use of materials and tools.
  • Support internal controls to prevent fraud and ensure proper segregation of duties.
  • Uphold confidentiality of proprietary information and comply with all laws, regulations, and company ethics policies.
  • Periodically reconcile physical assets with accounting records.

Education And Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in construction or landscape installation.
  • Proven leadership experience managing crews on active job sites.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Strong attention to detail and a solid work ethic.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • First Aid certification (or ability to become certified).

Physical Demands/Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. (mulch, fertilizer, etc.).
  • Ability to load/unload burlaps with plant cuttings onto trailer (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Ability to bend, stoop and twist continuously throughout the day.
  • Work in or about situations near direct automotive traffic.
  • Work near or about natural bodies of water.
  • Work 8+ hours per day with applicable breaks x 5 days/week (some overtime/weekend work required).
  • Ability to work in extreme conditions – temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Ability to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time.
