Landscape Designer II, Planning / Landscape Architecture

About the role

Halff is seeking a Landscape Architect / Landscape Designer II to join the growing multi‑disciplined Planning & Landscape Architecture team in Richardson, TX. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience working on parks, recreation and trail planning and design; urban park, plaza, streetscape and transportation enhancements; land development; and support for large‑scale planning projects. This role offers collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, professional business development opportunities, and potential ownership in the firm.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of landscape architects, planners, engineers, and others to provide landscape architecture and planning projects.
• Work with design teams and consultants through all design stages from concept through construction.
• Foster and promote a positive, team‑oriented environment and office culture.
• Produce construction document sets including hardscape, planting, construction details, specifications, and bidding packages.
• Apply construction methodologies and implementation practices.
• Manage multiple projects of various scale and complexity simultaneously.
• Anticipate the needs of clients and projects.
• Communicate effectively through various media.
• Ability to produce projects within stated deadlines and budgets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university.
• 3+ years of experience in Landscape Architecture.
• Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD, Land F/X, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent design skills.
• Well organized, detail oriented, and highly motivated.
• Experience in master planning of parks, trails, and recreation is a plus.
• Ability to travel periodically, primarily in‑state, to support project needs.
