Landscape Designer

About the role

The Landscape Designer position is within the premier outdoor living company, Hazeltine Nurseries Inc., which offers extensive landscape design-build services and maintains a large nursery. This role involves designing and developing plans for various outdoor spaces and related construction elements, collaborating with clients, and ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop plans for landscapes, hardscapes, trellises, gazebos, fencing, driveways, and related outdoor features.
• Collaborate with clients to assess needs, preferences, and site-specific requirements.
• Cook up site plans, construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Analyze site conditions, including soil composition, drainage, vegetation, and existing structures to prepare environmental reports and design plans.
• Coordinate with internal divisions, architects, and contractors throughout the design and construction process.
• Oversee construction activities to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
• Conduct site visits to monitor project progress and resolve on-site challenges.
• Manage client relationships and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Stay current on trends in landscape architecture and Florida-specific plant materials and applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Environmental Design, or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in landscape architecture and design.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven sales experience in the landscape industry.
• Strong knowledge of Florida-native and Florida-friendly plant material.
• Proficiency in landscape design software and CAD tools is preferred.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and client service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
