Landscape Construction Field Superintendent

About the role

The Landscape Construction Field Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily operations at a worksite to ensure the completion of projects in an efficient manner, supervises and troubleshoots all issues that occur on the job site, and ensures safety rules are always followed.

Responsibilities

• Aid Project Manager with all aspects of assigned projects.
• Identify and communicate need for changes in scope to Project Manager.
• Aid Project Manager with submittal packages and buyout projects, as needed.
• Produce general work schedule with Operations Manager & Project Manager.
• Produce & update 3-week look-ahead schedules throughout project.
• Oversee crew to maintain work schedule, update as required.
• Material Procurement for crews on a timely basis.
• Attend jobsite meetings/progress meetings.
• Prepare and review production reports with Operations Manager.
• Meet with crews and review project timeline.
• Approve time sheets for all assigned projects and submit to payroll using HCSS software.
• Oversee all safety compliance with crews and equipment on the job.
• Ensure the work meets Onyx quality standards and project specifications.

Requirements

• Proven experience as onsite Foreman or Superintendent.
• In-depth knowledge of construction procedures and equipment operations.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with workers on site, report project status and issues that may arise to the Project Manager and company ownership.
• Aptitude in math.
• Problem-solving and multitasking abilities required to respond in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• 5+ years’ experience in the Landscape Construction industry.
• High school graduate.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures.
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
