About the role
The Landscape Construction Field Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily operations at a worksite to ensure the completion of projects in an efficient manner, supervises and troubleshoots all issues that occur on the job site, and ensures safety rules are always followed.
Responsibilities
- Aid Project Manager with all aspects of assigned projects.
- Identify and communicate need for changes in scope to Project Manager.
- Aid Project Manager with submittal packages and buyout projects, as needed.
- Produce general work schedule with Operations Manager & Project Manager.
- Produce & update 3-week look-ahead schedules throughout project.
- Oversee crew to maintain work schedule, update as required.
- Material Procurement for crews on a timely basis.
- Attend jobsite meetings/progress meetings.
- Prepare and review production reports with Operations Manager.
- Meet with crews and review project timeline.
- Approve time sheets for all assigned projects and submit to payroll using HCSS software.
- Oversee all safety compliance with crews and equipment on the job.
- Ensure the work meets Onyx quality standards and project specifications.
Requirements
- Proven experience as onsite Foreman or Superintendent.
- In-depth knowledge of construction procedures and equipment operations.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with workers on site, report project status and issues that may arise to the Project Manager and company ownership.
- Aptitude in math.
- Problem-solving and multitasking abilities required to respond in a fast-paced construction environment.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license.
- 5+ years’ experience in the Landscape Construction industry.
- High school graduate.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
