Landfill Spotter

Responsibilities

• Direct vehicles to the proper area of the facility based on the site plan.
• Direct and communicate with trucks and vehicles in and out of the working area in all weather conditions.
• Control traffic flow in the event of an emergency.
• Inspect loads for signs of unacceptable waste and notify scales house if unacceptable waste is located.
• Follow all safety policies and rules including properly approaching vehicles, making eye contact with drivers to ensure signals are understood, and use personal protective equipment.
• Enforce publicly posted safety rules and un-posted safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with customers, scale house, and equipment operators regarding incoming loads of waste and other issues as they arise.
• Follow guidelines and procedures for completing daily opening and closing tasks.
• May perform general labor duties including site clean-up, yard work, and building maintenance.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Equivalent Diploma (GED)
• No experience required.
• Valid State of Texas Class C driver's license
• Knowledge of safety practices and hazards standard to Landfill work environment (preferred).
• Ability to understand and implement verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to perform physical labor.
• Ability to comprehend written and oral work assignments and perform work as assigned.
