Responsibilities
- Understand the basic components of a landfill well and purpose.
- Understanding of how to approach the landfill to help locate leaks.
- Prep construction sites by cleaning obstacles and hazards.
- Move tools, generators, etc. around the location and into trenches safely.
- Load and unload construction materials.
- Dig trenches and dig around buried piping.
- Remove, fill, or compact earth.
- Operate and care for construction equipment, tools, and machines; familiar with basic operating procedures for safe excavation and equipment operation.
- Understand and maintain all tools required for pipe welding; ensure tools are in good working condition and properly stored.
- Perform fusion welding on 2”, 3”, and 6” pipe using pit bull machines.
- Weld large-diameter pipe (8” to 18”) using 6-18 fusion machines.
- Demonstrate safe and effective operation of fusion equipment, including 6-18, 4-12, and 2-8 machines.
- Follow directions from supervisors and team leads.
- Read and interpret wellfield maps accurately to support field operations.
- Respond to routine callouts as needed, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Demonstrate safety leadership by consistently using proper PPE, identifying hazards, speaking up respectfully about safety concerns, and leading safety tailgate meetings.
- Safely operate construction equipment including skid steers, excavators, and dozers.
- Operate a fusion collar machine independently and safely.
- Properly install fusion collars and prepare pipes according to standard procedures.
- Maintain working knowledge of New Source Performance Standards compliance rules and regulations.
- Ensure regular maintenance is performed on all field construction equipment and verify that equipment is in good working order.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn through on-the-job training.
- Perform worksite clean-up and maintain a clean organized environment.
- Clean, conduct inventory, and properly store tools and equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on equipment as needed.
- Actively participate in safety talks and maintain a safety-first mindset at all times.
- Promote safety leadership by properly using PPE, identifying hazards, and speaking up respectfully about safety concerns.
- Provide support to equipment operators, fusion technicians, and other skilled laborers as needed.
- Assist with the care, maintenance, and organization of construction equipment and materials.
- Adhere to safety practices, use PPE, identify hazards, and address safety concerns respectfully.
- Ensure accurate and timely updates to the maintenance log.
- Communicate effectively with all teams on location to identify issues and contribute to increasing gas flow from the field.
- Assist in various tasks during upset conditions, including supporting maintenance techs, field techs, construction activities, and plant operations.
- Maintain housekeeping standards (clean & clear of clutter) in shop, storage, and UTV areas.
- Comply with all applicable safety and environmental regulations.
- Follow established field/plant maintenance procedures and design standards.
- Participate in: Ongoing training and education, Peer-to-peer training and knowledge sharing, Innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications/Experience
- Fundamentals of working with computers and navigating Microsoft applications.
- Ability to multitask and be self-directed.
- No previous experience is required.
- Preferred Qualifications: RNG/Landfill experience, construction experience, heavy equipment operation, and/or fusing of HDPE pipe experience is a plus.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must clear background check and pre-employment and random drug screenings.
- The ability to communicate effectively.
- The ability to be punctual, dependable and willing to work long hours if needed is required.
- The ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.
- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
- The ability to work days and weekends.
- The ability to work overtime and respond to callouts during off hours.
- The ability to respond in a timely manner to any emergency.
- Must have a reliable vehicle.
- Physically capable of performing fieldwork in varying conditions.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and dedication to team success.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
Schedule & Benefits
- Standard shift: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM (12-hour shifts).
- Overtime may be required based on operational needs.
- Weekend availability is expected as needed.
- Work Location: Must be able to travel 100% and on the road for an extended amount of time. Ability to travel extensively within the region (Texas and Arkansas) based on project.
- Supplemental pay types: Bonus pay
- Additional Compensation: $125 per day per diem
